Default ls1 removal

I have a 2000 Camaro Z, and i'm about to replace the motor, how difficult is it to remove the motor out the top of the car? Any tips would be appreicated.. thanks

Take it out of the bottom. K-member and all is easiest way to do it. The tranny bolts are damn near impossible to get out and getting all the connectors is a bitch too without dropping the engine down.

true you do have to remove alot more going through the top but if your caught without a lift your gonna do what you have to.

Ive pulled my motor a few times, I always go through the top. The only thing that is a pain in the a$$ is the tranny bolts (Pull the trans to) All you have to do is remove all the radiator and fan stuff (No Biggie) and you will be amazed how much room that freeze up. In my personal opinion its easier to pull from the top.

i had my motor out it 2 hr taking my time on the ground with a cherry picker out the bottom easiest way it thru the bottom

Spoken like someone who has probebly never pulled one from the bottom. Dropping the engine out is easier and there is much less chance of damaging something. I fyou don't have access to a lift. I've done it twice with floor jacks.
