Default brake light

i have a 1999 trans am and my brake light on the dash wont go off. i filled up the brake fluid and changed the front pads and rotors... and i cant figure out y its still on. any advice would be great. thanks

Is your parking brake down all the way? If not, check the parking brake handle switch.

if seem to be as far down as possible. doesnt make any noes like the park brake is on.... how do u go about checking that?

the car does have a fully built ford 9 inch. if that has anything to do with the light...

Its under the console and should be where the wire connects to the parking brake handle. You should be able to hook up to the contacts at the handle and test it there.

i had the bend the little switch on mine when that happened, like wssix said, its in the console

yes the tail light work perfectly and so does the brakes. just that dang light bugs me. im prolly just gona take the bulb out and be dune with it, if it wont hurt any thing by doing so

my abs light is on to cause it has a ford 9 inch in the rear and they didnt put abs back on after the build...
