some kid cut me off an my front end pushed him an he set my air bags off. my question is can i install new airbags in my car before geting a new sensor? some kid told me if i put the bags in its just gonna deploy again.

I went ahead and replaced the sensor on mine when I replaced the dash and bags. Got all the stuff for the job from somebody on here for under $200. I think I had read the same thing so I did it at the same time to be on the safe side. Ill see if I can find the article.

im guessing itll be the front bumper sensor not the box under the center console. how do you find out wat one it is?

i think the only way is to get it scanned

im no sure if a normal obdII reader can do that, you might have to get it scanned at a dealership

I don't think there is a front contact sensor on 99+ cars unless you know different.
