Default Squeaking noise from hatchback

I was going up my friends driveway earlier on a sideways angle, and hear a pneumatic squeak towards my rear. It was pretty blatant so I just want to make sure its NOT my T-Bar roof and hopefully the pneumatic shocks for the hatchback. Do these pneumatic shocks flex under sideways body flex?

make sure your spare tire is tight. Mine would do that and annoy the hell out of me.

I get a squeak back there all the time when driving (I imagine this is partially because the roads here are crap). I'll check the spare, but it sounds like a similar pneumatic sound. I don't have t-tops btw.

Welcome to owning an Fbody. They squeek and rattle. My 95 has gotten to the point where I almost don't even want to drive it any more.

What condition are your shocks in? Mine were worn when I got the car and made a prominent squeak when I pulled up into my (rather steep) driveway.

If the driveway was steep enough to cause body flex as you described, then the shocks could be the problem.

Check your antennae-if it is loose it will make a wierd sound and very hard to determine that it is the antennae. Make sure it is tight.

Two days ago, as I was driving on the highway, I started hearing a squeaking sound from the back of the car.

I completely pulled the spare tire & jack out of the car to see if the squeak would come back during my commute the next day. Yup, still squeaking even without the spare back there.
So I thought maybe it's the antenna. Turned the radio off (which retracts the antenna back down) and the squeaking still persisted--so it's not coming from the antenna either.

I can be cruising on the highway and it does *not* squeak when my foot is *off* the gas. However, as soon as I apply moderate throttle (and the road is bumpy) the squeaking surfaces.

Ideas? solutions? Pick up some earplugs?

I'm gonna go on a greasing spree here soon and just coat any metal on metal contacts. Sounds like a canary on crack back there

My guess would be suspension bushings.
