I have a 2002 TA and replaced the studs just a few weeks ago. There is an indention behind the studs that allows for the replacement of stock length studs. Providing it is the same set up. In my case, I put much longer studs on for my Weld drag wheels. I had to remove the axles.

It's not a big deal. I've replaced countless and have never had to pull the axles. You'll have problems it you are installing extra long studs. Then you will have to pull the axles.
For stock studs, just smack the old one on the end with a hammer and it pops right out. Fish the new one in from the back of the axle flange (you'll probably have to spin the axle until you find the right clearance) and intall a couple flat washers and an acorn style lug nut with the flat side against the axle flange. Then hit the nut with an air impact gun until it is fully seated. If you don't have an impact gun, then you'll just have to use a long breaker bar.
