Default Has anyone resealed an A/C compressor?

My A/C compressor is leaking from where the case is pressed together, but it still works fine. Is it possible to reseal it to save having to spend $500 on a new one? If so, anyone done it?

Pics of the leak are in my original thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...id-search.html

I used quik steel on mine. It comes in a clear round plastic tube. It's a 2 part black/grey epoxy puddy that you kneed with your fingers. It was still holding fine 6 months later when I swapped compressors.

Here's an Acehardware link. I usually get it from a local autoparts store.
