Get in my 2004 GMC this morning. Turn the key and it cranks, right before it goes to start, it just quits cranking. Turn the key off, go back to start, same thing. Quits trying to start, just before it actually starts.....WTF...starter, or what.....

If it cranks, probably not starter related. Security system?

Didn't try valet mode, but it acts like it wants to start, and responds to the key, just gets to the point of lighting off, and the ignition switch stops turning the starter.

Not sure about your truck, but the F-bodies are famous for having problems with the factory built in security system preventing the car from starting. I believe most people end up having to get the damn thing disabled.

Fuel pump gone....ECM shuts down ignition circuit to prevent laying on the starter. Fuel pressure with key on was 10psi......360 bucks later, I'll be back on the road.....
