Default Ignition problems killing me. Help please.

Ok. I got the correct LS1 pedals yesterday for my T56 swap. Everything was fine when I started. I had LT1 pedals in it. Clutch was not disengaging so I swapped in the LS1 pedals. No problems there. In order to put them in I decided it was best to pull the steering column. No problem because I've done it before. Well, on the blue ignition switch connector, two wires were pulling out. When I put everything back together with those two wires in the place I thought they went, NO START. Security light was flashing. So I pulled everything back down and swapped those two wires. Now the car starts but won't shut off. The two wires I'm referring to are a pink and brown wire. The yellow and red wires are still connected with no problems. WTF is going on? If brown wire is in the top where I believe it should go, car cuts on and off like it should but no start. If I put the pink wire in the top, car starts but you can take the key out and it will remain started. PLEASE for the love of whoever you hold dear, HELP ME!!!! I just spent 2500 dollars on a T56 swap I can't enjoy.

Oh and also I removed the column with the battery still connected. Would that cause a vats problem? If so, how do I fix that?

Yeah, I looked at that. See where it says ignition switch? There are actually 5 wires there on two connectors. Red, yellow, brown and pink on one, orange on another.

Here's the Vats schematic, since you mentioned the security light.

I still don't see any Pink or brown though...

try taking a picture of your connectors. Maybe someone who has their covers off can verify with their car.

It won't let me post these damn pictures. I hate this ****. Its a blue connector on the ignition switch that is bolted to the top of the steering column.

Engine starts but won't shut off. Did you bang your ignition switch out of adjustment when you pulled the column down?

No. I replaced the ignition switch this morning. It only does it when the pink wire is on top. If the brown wire is on top, it acts correctly, just won't start.

Apparently something is wrong with ls1tech. I've tried uploading these pictures on two comps now and keep getting an error message. WTF.

Anyone else? If someone has a picture of their steering column removed or even better a picture of the blue connector plugged into the ignition switch it would be very helpful.

They might be too big. Try cropping them or resizing.
