Default ls1 low oil light.. even after oil change

so when i bought my 2000 ws6 the low oil light was on.. i checked the oil level and it was good but i still threw a quart and a half in there to be safe.. well the light was still on.. so i figured it was the level sensor and i bought a new one.. i changed my oil yesterday and changed the sensor and the low oil light is still on.. i out in 6 quarts of oil.. ran it for a few minutes and threw another half quart in.. the low oil light came on once again even after i reset it.. if i have full oil and a brand new oil level sensor then why is the light still coming on? any help would be appreciated.. i just want the annoying light that is in my face to be off.. thanks everyone

When I installed my headers, I accidentally sheered the wires right off my oil level sensor. My low oil light came on and stayed on since then. Instead of buying a new harness and splicing in the wire, I took the wires and just twisted them together, just grounding the two wires together. I know how to check my oil level, I don't need a light telling me how. And it was free
