why do you want to remove the tank? not very hard at all. just remove screws at the neck and bolts to the straps. alot of people opt to cutting the gas tank door to gain access to the pump w/o having to cut or remove exhaust

Search for 'fuel pump trap door' threads, like nemss1 mentioned.
Cut a hole from the inside of the rear hatch. Details instructions on here somewhere on where to cut & everything.
It's a LOT quicker/easier.

Ive done the trap door and pulled tanks but ive never put a tank back in lol

Trap door is easy, just be careful how deep you cut with the cut off wheel, be really careful not to bend the fuel level sender arm pulling it out, and use silicone to seal off the plate when you put it back on.

I would use tin snips instead of a cut off wheel!

Don't forget gloves, goggles and stuff. Might seem like common sense, but when I did my trap door I was shirtless, had sunglasses on and no gloves, lol. I've never done any kind of body work so watching the sparks fly and my dremel actually strain for once was kinda unnerving.

Man those sparks stung...
