Starting issues
When I start my car it turns over fine but feels a little different that normal (weaker) and it will start a little then die and I start it again and its perfect. It has never done this before but just started doing it. Is this a sign of the starter going bad or something else?

If it sputters out during the initial start it may be a fuel issue, change your fuel filters. how many miles? when was the last time your spark plugs were changed? If the starter turns the motor over just fine than its not the starter.

From what you are saying it sounds like it might be the starter or the fuel system. My car would turn over fine but would never crank on the first try, no matter how long I let it prime. Swapped the fuel pump and cranks immediately, first try, every time.
If you are saying it sounds like the starting is getting weaker then I'd lean towards the starter going out.

120k miles now and it sounded very weak on cold days, I know to be expected but it almost acted like it didnt have enough power at all to start it, it turned over really slow and weak but as soon as it hit it started right up.

don't want to highjack the thread but i just started having the same symptoms...on cold days it seemed to be a little weak trying to start up...sometimes i would turn the key once or twice and nothing would happen other than two faint knocks...then it would start just fine.
Yesterday, i cranked it and the first time heard the same two knocks, then on the second crank it felt weak but it started...drove it about 3 miles and parked, when i left it felt weak as well when it was cranking but once it started it was fine. This morning, it was probably around 40 degrees outside and the car doesn't want to crank at all, i just hear knocking every time i turn the key. Took the battery to autozone and they told me it was fine but a little low so they recharged it. I put it back on and nothing. I'm leaning towards the starter but I just wanted to get a second opinion before i go ahead and buy it.

In my experience if the fuel pump is going it won't affect how the car cranks. A bad fuel pump will either make starting difficult, idling and driving a mess with a chance of stalling, but it won't change how a starter spins the motor. I'd start looking into the other areas...

more news, when I start now sometimes it will reset the trip gauge, and the speedometer and tach will go all the way up and come back down like they are resetting. Sign of bad battery?
