Red face Water pump bolt ???

Is there any reason why one of my water pump bolts came out looking like this? This bolt came from a 5.3l engine that has 75K on it. Is this a bad thing or is this normal?

some of the bolts run through water passages. that's why you'll have water or corrosion on some when you take them out.

just starts to build up when it gets old,and could potentially cause your engine to run hot, will clog up the radiator and heater core. its a good idea to get it flushed every few to five years so this dosent happen!
