Click, no start

Click, no start
I'm going to eat some lunch first then check up here prior to pulling the starter but I wanted to see if my line of thought meshes with you guys.
Help me troubleshoot this before I go and spend $300 on a replacement starter.
Not a VATS issue:
-Security light shuts off after a few seconds
-Clicking noise made by starter
Not a battery issue:
-tried with battery booster pack
-tried 2A/10A charger for a quick boost
Not a stuck clutch issue:
-car in gear rolls back in driveway if clutch pedal pushed in
Not a neutral safety switch issue:
-if try to start with pedal normal, no click
-if push down clutch pedal, click
Thinking power to starter/or starter issue:
-will check wiring when I get under it and do some continuity tests
-starter clicks (meaning some power goes to it)
-car started fine in morning, came back home and parked in driveway, went to go and click
-noticed this happened a few days ago, but started after a few attempts, at the time didn't think much of it, but now only clicks happening

Sounds to me like your on the right track....can only be a few things battery, loose/dirty connections, bad solenoid....I had similiar issues awhile back luckly I drive an m6 so push start came to the rescue...I tried everything battery good, connections good, starter worked sometimes and sometimes not....I come to find out that my connection at the starter was tight but kinda rusty and LITTLE dirty never thought it would be the problem but I broke the connection loose, cleaned the post and wire ends...and bingo!!! fixed the problem...just double check everything....hopefully its not your starter or solenoid

i had a problem with the stater grounding out on the block ground, see if thats touching, and clean all terminals and retighten everything not strangle and strip just retighten after cleaned up... yes i dont know how to spell

It was the starter, wires were clean and fine. Connections underneath the bolt were bare metal.
Replaced starter and all is well. Minus $230 from a down the street mom and pop parts shop. Better than the $330 Generous Motors wanted on a reman...
I made sure I had 2 inches b/w my headers and the starter wire.
