Default Power steering fluid looks milky whiteish

Any idea what would cause power steering fluid to turn milky whiteish in color? Also, anyone know of any links to how-to change your power steering fluid?

Do you have a power steering cooler on the car? If you do then mayybe the power steering cooler is allowing the coolant to mix with the power steering fluid.

Damn good question. I have no idea, the guy I recently bought the car from seemed incredibly successful in life but at the same time unable to hold a coherent conversation, so I was unable to learn anything about the car. Where would I find the PS cooler and what would it look like? On that note, if I have a PS cooler is it OK that it is allowing coolant to mix with it, or is that a no-no?

if you want to do the cheap route, like i did. just go buy some brass plugs and plug the power steering cooler. But DO NOT plug the power steering lines, instead loop them back together. I remember seeing someone on here say that they plugged the lines and I gave him a fair warning...2 weeks later the plugs busted and the power steering fluid went everywhere.

Foamy white is usually air. The pump could also be going bad.
