Hey guys for the last 3 weeks my oil pressure gauge has been reading everywhere from 0 to 65 psi. Usually on the first start up of the day it'll shot up to about 65psi then slowly start heading its way to zero. This started happening after I changed my oil three weeks ago. The truck doesnt leak, it doesn't make any noises, but the gauge will read zero and the most I've driven was about 13 miles. with it on zero. I don't want to hurt my motor but times are tough and this is my only vehicle to drive right now.

Has anyone had this problem before? I heard alot of times its the sensor. is that true I don't want to be the first case where its my oil pump.

my cousin is having the same problem its probably just the oil psi sender becouse if you were at 0 psi and u drive 13 miles you would probably have a meessed up motor by now...ic could also be your gauge going bad

Yep, had the same thing happen on my '03 Silverado. Just change the sender. It can be done without removing a bunch crap. Just need the special socket.

Sure sounds like the sender is going bad, hook up a mechanical gauge just to be sure and verify that its not another problem.
