Default intermediate shaft to short with tube k-member

Hey guys, I installed a tubular k-member in my 2000 Camaro and im having a problem with the intermediate steering shaft length. I loosened the upper bolt in the shaft and forced it down but just don't like it. the factory k-frame I had no problem, I did buy this k-frame used but looked in great shape. any thoughts on this, thanks

You didnt like the way the steering felt after you slid it down, or you didnt like the way it looked?? What brand K-member is it

it goes on good but the bolt that goes threw ( the notch on rack ) doesn't line up and I have to use a pry bar to force it do enough for the bolt to go threw and I loosened the upper bolt and have it as far as its going to go. As far as the k-member, I asked the guy who k it is and he thinks its a bmr but wasn't positive. Its a older one ( 8-9 yrs ) but low miles on it. I have looked at some of the web sites - bmr-umi and they look alittle different. I mean that it will attach and tighten, I just don't like the fact that I have to pry on it
