Looking at purchase of 2001 SS, I can score it for $2000
Not sure I feel like pulling motor. I'm hoping flywheel bolts?? What's your take???

That is surely rod bearing noise, I would expect easily 2k in repairs or more.

I'm pretty good with noises, I'd say there is a 99.99% chance you are hearing a rod bearing. You could start pulling fuel injector connectors and see if it quiets down. Then there would be no doubt. With the cylinder unloaded a bad bearing will go quiet. Good Luck

Yup that was next step, think a 2001 SS is worth 2,000? It's an auto needs some interior work but body is pretty decent. It was in a accident back in 09 but everything else seems ok, except for rod knock LOL

I would offer 1000 and expect to spend 2500 plus easily.
