Camaro antenna mast part #
Does anyone know the correct part number for the antenna mast for a 2002 Camaro SS? I recently had mine replaced under warranty for chipping paint, and the one they replaced it with is completely different.

Different in that it's got a hex style base and the wire twisting up the mast? This seems to be all that GM stocks over the parts counter for replacement parts. The stock smooth one still comes on some cars off the assembly line but I couldn't get one over the parts counter either.
In the end, I decided to just ditch the mast and built a nice thread cap, makes it look like a power antenna. I don't really use the radio though (just the CD player) so reception was not a concern.

Not a big priority for me though, I basically only use the CD player when I'm in that car, and for the few times I want to use the radio being right next to Chicago means that most broadcasts are strong enough that I pick 'em up fine even without an antenna mast....
