Default keychip problem??

Has anyone ever had the problem of the stupid POS chip in their key go bad or not start the car? My car wont start and the battery is awesome(Redtop) and i have a month old starter. The key goes in and it turns over and clicks just like its the starter, but it will RANDOMLY start....its been doing this for about a month now. Now it seems its more frequent....sometimes i wiggle the key back and forth(to start and not to start) it will like "catch" or something and start the car....I think its the ignition or could it be the chip in the key? Someone please help!!!

Clean the chip, could also be the ignition lock where it reads the chip (some people bypass the VATS system when it starts acting up)...

do a search on VATS by pass and add in camaroand it will turn up a lot of stuff, i had to do it, simple as splicing in a resistor and using a multimeter to test to see which you need

Default Vats

Hey,i work in the parts dept. at a chevy dealer.I see this all the time.Sometimes the key does go bad but more than likely it is the lock cylinder that is bad. It doesn't cost that much to replace so you probablly would not want to do any bypassing.Part #26033390 for automatic and #26033387 for manual.I can give you a good deal on a new one if you cant.843-818-7952 ASHLEY

how can u tell if its the lock cylinder or the key because mine has been doing this also...going down the road and it will shut off but still have electronic power and it gets to where it will only start every once in a while
