Default Key Fob problem. It locks it just fine,...but it won't unlock it.

Key Fob problem.

It locks it just fine,...but it won't unlock it. The thing is...sometimes it does unlock the doors. So I'm guessing there is a loose wire somewhere. I think somewhere under the steering wheel. Does anybody have any ideas?

Using the door unlock button in the cars works fine as well,..it's just on the key fob.

Help.

THanks!

the motor could be going out or it could be just off track....the little black latch sometimes will come off track causing it to pull it closed but not push it forward

Try taking your fob apart and cleaning all the button contacts. Sometimes they get dirty.

It'd be a good time for a new battery, too, maybe.

Just for the heck of it try pressing and holding both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote for a few seconds, both door locks should cycle and the parking lamps should flash.

I have to take mine apart about every 6 months. The little circut board gets a black greese on it. I use a coin to open it up, and then wipe it off with my t shirt. Always works as good as new.

Same here. Will often only work with lock but not unlock. Cleaning internally helps. But mine has to be cleaned much more often.
