Default AIR BAG & SERVICE VEHICLE DASH LIGHTS?

I don't know where this should go so I'm posting in here. While I was driving my car today the Air Bad and Service Vehicle light came on and won't turn off. If I restart the car they come on again. I don't have a clue what caused this and what it means. Anyone know?

I'm guessing that my air bag is malfuntioning... and needs to be checked by chevy but this won't hurt performance at all right?

I usually point the blame at the clockwork spring since it is the easier part to damage w/o realizing it..
