Did I kill my driveshaft?
I have a bone stock 97' z28 a4 with about 55k miles on it. I was driving it about a month ago and went to race a friend. I gunned it at the line and there was a small CLUNK sound. Like someone hit the underside of the car with a hammer. and I didn't exactly shoot off the line. After that I kind of babied the car for a while until this weekend I went to peel out and a loud sound again underneath the car. It seems to be coming from directly underneath the shifter. It does it every time REALLY bad when I brake torque. The car isn't driving right at this point... I'm not exactly a mechanic but a friend of mine said it might be drive shaft or u-joint. My friend also ruled out motor mounts because the engine doesn't seem to jump during a brake torque. any ideas?

Well if it was a driveshaft or the U joints you would have know by now. they act like a out of balance tire when they are bent and the u joint would of have failed and exited the vehicle already if it was one of them.
My first guess is going to be broken transmission mount...
Now you just need to quit being lazy (not meant in a mean way) and get under the car and find the issue before something does break that is not fun to fix. It is cheaper to fix it now before it is really broke and breaks something else along the way.
