Thumps and bumps

Thumps and bumps For the past couple months, there has been a thumping sound from what sounds to be, right under my shifter (manual). It's a lot more noticeable when I decelerate without braking, and it puts the ***** in HORRIBLE when it rains. I also hear a buzzing under the car in the back somewhere on occasion (again, mostly on non-braking deceleration), but my suspicion is that they're unrelated. However, I don't know all that much about all that much, so I probably shouldn't be saying that. ANY help at all is appreciated. Thanks
