bearing noise from the motor
i have a bearing type noise coming from the engine bay (even louder with hood closed) sounds like a slight metal rub noise there are no leaks no performance issues and no signs of anything wrong... its noticeable but not loud i was thinking tension or another pulley but it sounds like it is coming from the motor itself anyone have any ideas? or had this sound and what it was? - vehicle 00 trans am 5.7l 59k miles

yea mine does that too. i'm not sure what it could be. it may be a squeaky belt or rubbing pulley. beats me... i'm not worried tho because just like yours, mine also works fine with no performance issues.

It’s the freaking AC belt tensions; they are the lowest thing to the ground and get most exposure to everything on the road, including dirt and water. I bet that’s the problem my friend, they don’t sell them at Discount either, NAPA carries them I believe. Other wise you have to go to the dealer
Put your head under the front of the car while its running, then you’ll know for sure.
Its annoying as hell

i took a closer look and then got on the floor and listened and it sure sounds like it is from the lower part of the motor so most likely it is the ac that is making the noise im gonna try to fix it this spring if its not to expensive or even just bypass the ac... anyone else done this?

when you ask "done this" you mean A/C bypass or fix the noise?
Be absolutely sure you know where the sound is coming from. Sometimes you think it's coming from some place when it's not.
