Oil pressure ? and General maintenance ?
I just bought my ss 2 months or so ago, Im still learning about the ls1, had an lt1 car 3 or 4 years ago now.
Anyway... I was driving home from a friends tonight and I noticed that the oil pressure gauge seemed to be reading high. I searched around and a lot of the problems I read involved the gauge dipping below 40. I noticed that it seemed to idle and cruise around 45psi, but when I get on it, it looked like it was around 65-70, maybe a tad higher and this was at max about 4500-5000rpms. Is this normal, from what I was reading that seems high, but maybe Im just paranoid. Anything to do with the under drive pulley? Also, the change oil light came on at startup a few times, but then goes away after about 5 minutes of driving. Im confused cause the oil was changed around 1000 miles ago. So is anything going on or am I just crazy?
Also, I have 90k miles on my car, any things I should start to replace? Figure might as well replace some thigns before it has a chance to break.
Thanks

As RPM increase so those your oil pressure because it runs from the crank. So don't worry about it as long as its normal at cruise speed. And the oil light comes on at 7,500 intervals, I think. You can reseted by turning the key until you see the dashboard gauges working but don't turn on the car then hold the trip reset but until the oil light blinks three times.

Actually the oil light works by engine RPMs. Once the engine sees so many RPMs, it pops it on.
Apparently you can also turn the key to the "on" position and pump the gas 3 times to reset it. That's a standard GM thing I believe. My '06 Silverado had it as well but I've never tried it on the Camaro.

Thanks, I also read that the guages in the 2000+ cars arent very accurate. Also, might be a stupid question but...the change oil light, doesnt mean I have low oil? Ill check it anyway.
