Default weird warning light on gauges I have never seen before!

Hello, I have a strange warning light I have never seen before. It came up after starting the car, which sat for about 5 hours. I didn't have a problem before, and all the fluids are fine as far as I can tell. It is up and to the right from the fasten seatbelt warning light. it is a square outlined, with a small bump on the top center (sorta like the shape of a canteen), it has an arrow inside the figure pointing down to what looks to be water that fills the bottom portion of the square. Sorry for the strange description, but I don't know how to attach the pic to insert into the forum.

Please help me asap!!!

thanks for anything!

sounds like the low coolant level indicator, the "canteen" is supposed to be a radiator.

Nooo! You guys really like living dangerously! Take $40 and 30 minutes of your time and replace it.

I would really like to know right away if I ever get low on coolant.

yeah, you are right, where is the sensor located? I am assuming on the bottom of the radiator, but I haven't gone looking for it yet. Thanks again for all the help!

Don't know the year of your car, but this should help.

If I remember correctly, removing the battery gives you the necessary room. Just drop the coolant level by a couple of inches - then R&R the sensor. It is held in place by a wire clip that you pry off - careful you don't lose it when you pry it off.

Make sure the new sensor is fully seated and clip secure - I have read stories of the sensor falling off and the result is a mess.

Fill and bleed the system.

Im not 100% sure on the f-bodies but usually the low coolant sensors are located on the passenger side of the radiator approximately in the middle of the radiator
