Default Driver Side Headlight

About 6 months ago I changed to brass gears in my headlights, the passenger side went smooth and everything came out right. On the other hand everything almost went all right on the driver side but now when it shuts it hits the stop and comes back up a little so the driver side headlight does not sit flush like the passenger but sits up. Does anybody know why this would happen and a way I can fix it?

Thanks.

Not that hard, just some of the nuts are kind of a pain to get to but not that challenging of a project.
