Had the same problem. More people could probably help if u had the number of the code like P0442 or at least thats what mine was.
Anyways its a vacuum system. I ended up having my tank smoked and there was a leak above the gas tank. Best bet and quickest find is to have a dealership smoke it for you. Around $60.00

I used to get the EVAp error code in my V-6. Loose gas cap due to not being put on right. Can't pump my own gas here in Oregon. So I got a scan tool to turn the light off and started watching the fuel attendant more closely. It is just a leak and should not affect the performance of the car. Could be as simple as needing a new gas cap.
