A/C - blows, no cold air, found green liquid, pictures inside
saturday it was working fine, sunday morning it didn't. Judging from the pictures i'm guessing an o-ring is bad and all the freon has escaped. i didn't know that the a/c had green anti-freeze like liquid.
any ideas are greatly appreciated.
many thanks, josh

Hard tube is either cracked or the o ring is bad. I have bought about 10 of these. They run about $65.00 I think. Replace the whole hard line reinstall your pressure switch then all you have to do is put the vac on it. Wait at least 1 hr to make sure it holds then start charing the system.

The A/C has been serviced before, a tracer dye was installed in the system. If you shine a black light on it it glows...it makes it easier to find leaks.
As said above, replace the leaking line or seal and vacuum and recharge.

My hose broke in the same spot. I bought a replacment hose(I think it's called the AC liquid line, don't have the PN on hand), and installed it. Turns out they don't come with an orfice tube or something like that. I'd suggest taking it to a dealer and letting them fix it, they will have to recharge it anyways.

Next time your in Autozone or something look at the oil in the clear bottle, pure POE oil is green.
Go to GM and ask for a liquid line for your year, etc.
My line cost around $45, it had the pressure switch, orifice tube and one o-ring. You need to order the other o-ring seperate for some reason.
I was wearing a work shirt, and they put my works name on the invoice, maybe thats why mine was cheaper than what others have said.

The high side vapor line goes from the compressor to the other fitting on the condenser and is mostly rubber.
This is the evaporator side of my liquid line, it gets bigger on the end to allow the orifice tube to fit there.

The quality can be judged from the location of purchase, that I would bet money on.
