camaro ss running slow
A few days ago my Camaro SS started to run slow. It's bogging a bit, and I even noticed its not as loud as it should be. I had 64k, I don't think the plugs have ever been changed, could that be the problem? The check engine light remains off though..

Sounds like theres a numerous amount of basic maintenance things you should be doing... the require this stuff every some many months/miles for a reason... fuel filters what like every year? so about every 12,000 miles.... spark plugs shouldnt be the problem.. pull em and check em.... if its not as loud as it should be ide stick with checking the cat to... is it a stock cat? i know when my cat went bad i threw a code.. i forget what it was but the engine light came right on... make sure yer check engine light works too

cat code shoudl be a p0420 i think.
does it have any codes or pending codes?
are the plug wires all the way on the plugs and coils?
my plugs looked ok at 80k when i replaced them.
but start with the codes if it has any

1. replace plugs and wires if not already done. Cheap and good way to increase performace.
2. Remove Cats... Dont need em anyway
3. Replace Fuel filter.
4. Run some Lucas Fuel System Sleaner through
5. Air Filter
Just tune the bitch up

Hey guys thanks for all the replies..
Lets see here, no lights on the dash, however they do work (they light up when I start the car).
I always fill up with 91 octane gas, usually shell v-power.
What plugs and wires do you recommend I switch to? And fuel filters?
Also I'm sure what you guys mean when you talk about codes and stuff?
thanks

Personally, I would fill up at a different station, add fuel injector cleaner, and change your air filter.
Hope this helps.
