Oil Problems and filters, many questions.
Like some of you I have a problem with two qts of oil going bye bye in less than 3 months and at about 2.5k miles. I was first running Mobile 1 synthetic 10w-30, then I switched to Mobile 1 10w-50. It still burned so I gave up and switched to regular oil because I can't afford a 30 dollar oil change if I am going to need another one in 2 months. I first tried 10w-30 Penzoil, then I put something crazy in like 15w-50 and it was too thick. So for most the time I have had my Camaro SS I have changed what type of oil just about every time. Is this hurting my engine?
Also, filters. Can you leave the high priced oil filters on for two oil changes, like the Wix Oil filter which is something like 17 bucks. Or what do you guys think of the Fram high mileage oil filters that are supposed to last for 7k miles.
Last question.. What oil will stay in my car!

My engine is noisey as hell since new, had the lifters replaced under warranty at 24,000 miles, didn't help. GM said don't worry about it.
Only thing different than everyone else I've heard is my engine never burns a drop of oil.
I've run 5w30, 10w30 mobil one; castrol syntec blend 10w30 seemed quieter, always an ac delco filter for a truck.
Last oil change I went to 5w30 Pennzoil Platinum and a Mobil filter. That was about a $50 oil change, I went on a 1200 mile trip so far, none missing, same old noises.
Hope something here helps.
