Default Is a catback a driveway job?

I want to replace the crapola flowmaster from the previous owner with a new catback. Is that a driveway job or should I send it out for installation?

I am thinking of a Spintech. I had that system on my '96 and the sound was awsome.

It's definately a driveway job. I just installed my Hooker Catback in the driveway. It took about 2 hours total.

Definetly a drive way job. I installed a Borla on mine on a set of Jackstand in less than an Hour.

Everything is a driveway job if you've got jackstands!

Well, I guess. Maybe the more appropriate way to phrase it was - "will I hate myself for starting this job in the driveway."

I would say no. My step dad and put my Borla on my Z in the garage of jack stands. It took longer than it should have, but it only took a couple hours, you could def do it in the driveway unless you started real late and it got dark.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but does the same go for a Y-pipe too? I am planning on getting both a new y-pipe and catback? No welding with the y-pipe right?

Absolutely. It would be a little more difficult if you were removing a stock setup, or if you were trying to protect the system you are removing. But in your case, no problems at all. Back up on some ramps, chock the fronts, and go to town.

All mods in sig done in the garage. No lift.

Yes you can do it in the driveway. If you have a problem with the rear end, just drop it.

Yup. Did my Magnaflow in my driveway today. Took about a hour, including running to my shop to grab band clamps.

I was thinking about that too. Wondering if separating from the Y will cause irreparable damage to it because of age/rust.

What kind of Y are you using - stocker or aftermarket?

You may actually have to cut 1-3" off the end of the I pipe to make it fit right.

I didn't have enough ground clearance to install my gmmg in the driveway. I was able to get the old exhaust off but had to take it to a shop.

My jack stands are too big for my jack so it gave me problems.

You let something like the dark stop you? Thats when its time to break out the flashlights and drop lights
