autozone tranny mount
#2
I replaced my transmission mount two years ago... checked autozone and it was the wrong mount (atleast, it was different) than factory. Same thing at O'Reilly, ended up going to Advanced Auto to get the correct one. Not to say that the other two wouldn't work, because honestly it's been so long I don't remember, but they didn't match up with the factory mount.

Yeah, the Energy suspension mount on my car stayed on almost a week before I pulled it off. The vibration was really bad! So I then decided to grind down the preload bumps flush with the preload plate and reinstall it. Now the vibration is very minor, And I have not had any problems with it in all the years it has been on my car since then.

they transmit more of any vibrations you already have because its a much more solid mount than rubber. take care of the reason you are getting vibrations, its not the mount causing them, it just lets you know it there.lol
as for install, you are suposed to use the preload plate. how much plate or not depends on pinion angle, every degree nose down your pinion is, the tail shaft should be tail up the same. as for the bolts, you will reuse the bolts that hold the mount to the trans and use the new bolt that goes thru the crossmember into the mount.

i just got done installing my energy suspension/auto zone tranny mount. installation was pretty easy, and this is the first time i got under my car. i could of got it done in about 30-40 min but the bolt they supplied was a little to big, so i was tearing up my basement for something that could fit. and did i use the preload plate.
as for the test drive, i knew the tranny mount was an improvement because i laid down some rubber at the end of my block . as for vibration you guys are speaking of, its a bitch at takeout is this normal), but maybe ill live with it
ps...**** blood blisters!

you also might try fixing any oil leaks, tho rubber mounts allow more movement and forgiveness the mian reason for them to fail 9 out of ten times is from oil/or other fluids soaking them and breaking down the rubber. dont know if your car leaks, but thats the reason most rubber mounts fail prematurly............
