LS6 or Fast 92
Guys,
I have been on the combination in my sig for a while now. I am still on the LS1intake and have been looking at the FAST 92/92. Do not know if I will port it or not as money is tight. I realize that this question may have been asked a million times, but I am going to ask anyway. Is the FAST (unported) worth the extra money over the LS6 in your opinion? And any ideas on the gains I should see over the choking LS1 with either and with my combination? I have just started doing some research but looking for some opinions. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

buy a $50 dremel and port it yourself.
i would expect to see 20-25 hp with the fast over your current ls1 intake.
figure the ls6 would be 10-15hp and the fast would be another 10 on top of that.
ported it could be worth even more.
but with that heads/cam combo you should be in at 450rwhp...

the general consensus around here is that the FAST has the greatest gains with heads, and like Teke said, you are DEFINATLEY going to get better all around numbers with that FAST, and you are in that group were the FAST would be "worth it" from a gains perspective. You're the one with the checkbook though

I would not get a FAST intake unless you are going to port it. An LS6 intake will run you $300 and it will still be a good gain for the low price.
You are looking at 3-4x as much money for a FAST.

I honestly think I could have spent my $$ better but I'll never know since I did a bunch of $h!t at once. I think bigger cubes and 6500+ is where the fast pays off. Otherwise LS6is the cost effective choice.
At least I got mine used so I don't feel totally *** raped lol.

Even on stock cubic inch engines, we've seen nice gains from the FAST 92mm combo! On the engine dyno with a 346ci LS1 short-block and aggressive heads/cam setup, when we swapped the stock FAST 92mm unit out for a ported 92mm, we saw 9hp gains (with a couple degrees less timing too!)!
