iron block alt mounting help!?!?!
I am in the process of putting a iron block in my car and noticed that the alt bracket doesn't fit. The block does not have the the hole drilled for the top bolt. I tried using a 2nd bracket from the back that i got off a GTO but that doesn't work either. I got this shortblock from a sponser and I am a little upset that this hole was not drilled and tapped before i got it.
How are you mounting your alt in your F body with a iron block? other than drilling and tapping the block.

I know the feeling. I was hoping to use the F-Body accessories on mine, but then found out I'd have to drill and tap a bolt hole. You must have one of the later castings, like i do. (04 yukon engine) That is the only way to get the bracket to bolt to the block that I know of.
