Default heard bubbling/boiling noise...

after I got home from work today. I popped the hood and feared that it was my coolant, but the sound seemed to be coming from the passenger side of the waterpump area. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone else experience this?

Did you have the A/C on?

You could've heard the refrigrant rushing past the oriffice tube.

How long did it lastafter you shut it off, (the noise)?

The coolant is full?

I meant is the anti-freeze full?

If it's ok I'd say drive it recreate the same conditions & see if you can better pinpiont where the noise is coming from.

Use a chunk of hose like a stethoscope to help.

It wasn't the a/c condensation dripping on my headers, I have heard that plenty of times This was more of a bubbling sound.

I drove the car to work this morning and didn't have that sound when I turned off this time. And I monitored my temp guage to see if anything was getting extremely hot, and it stayed cool.

i've never heard it in my car since i dont drive with ac alot but in my truck when i switch from ac to heat or the other way around i hear the type of sound you are describing. i would check the ac first. try making the car do it but test it a couple times with the ac on then a couple with the ac off and let us know what happens.

Its possible its the coolant.

Did it sound like it was coming from where the thermostat is?

There was another member here to heard also a bubbling noise and checked the temp gauge and everything seemed normal. Swapped out the thermostat and everything was fine. Turned out it was getting stuck shut.

I have the same problem as well. Only happens sometimes, not all the time. I'll be swapping out the T-stat and see if it alleviates the problem.

Actually that is exactly where it sounded like it was coming from, but like I said (and you said) I watched the temp guage and it was fine. I will keep an eye or ear out for it to come back. Maybe this will be a good excuse for me to get a Meziere water pump...you know since they include a thermostat anyway
