Default best exaust for catless header set up

hey guys im running macs right now im looking for the best sounding best flowing non-raspy exaust system. im running macs with the off road non-cat y pipe. im looking for somthing that sounds mean flows better than the flow masters i have now and also i hate the raspy sound that im getting with the flow masters. i also dont want it to be too loud (officer avoidence).

Magnaflow. Flows well, sounds great while not being too loud, and stainless steel for 320 bux or so new on Ebay.

I have the GMMG with mine. It was a raspy before I put on a bullet, 12" Dynomax. Now there still is rasp, but certainly nowhere near what it was. I like it (but might be going true duals) and it gets tons of compliments, not to mention it scares the sh*t out of ricers!

SLP dual/dual is the best exhaust for getting of raspy sounding exhaust, IMO. That or stock. Magnaflow will be raspy compared to SLP dual/dual.

I say go true duals but if you want to go with a catback I would check in with magnaflow, they seem to have a good flowing catback, GMMG might be a little too loud and plus its very expensive but its a great catback. You should also look at the hooker catback they flow really well and arent that loud. I think any catback you choose you will have a little rasp w/o your cats. Good Luck man

im gunna agree with the magnaflow, i have a freind running a 427ci ls1 with kooks long tube headers, no cats, right into a magnoflow muffler, the thing sounds great. for the money the magnaflow is a real great exuast, if i didnt opt for the loudmouth i would have went with magnaflow.

I've read nothing but great things about the Magnaflow and that is what I will end up getting if I change catbacks but I already have the loudmouth and I don't want to take the time to pull it off and have to deal with selling/shipping it.
CAL, you promise the Borla XR1 sounds great without being too loud? It's my easy out and I've heard you as well as a few others post about this muffler sounding awesome at least ten times here recently. It's expensive for what it is but if it does the job then it is worth every penny. Cal, have you ever heard a Magnaflow to make a comparison between the two? Anyone else?

Cal, you told me a few days ago that you were kinda bummed out because you bought directly from Borla and the muffler you bought was cheaper from Jegs. Well I went to their website and the one I was looking as well as the others I saw were more expensive than Borla's site. I'm gonna get either the 15" long round muffler with 3" in/out or the 12" oval 3" in/out or 12" oval 4" in/out. I have a 4" out y-pipe that uses a 4" to 3" reducer so I can use the reducer after the y-pipe with the 3" in/out muffler or after the 4" in/out muffler. They are all XR1 sportsmans so oval or round should not sound different right? Which one do you have?

I'm with Jorday, the SLP Dual/Dual sounds very nice with LT's and no cats.
