Exhaust for stock car?
I am going to get a catback system for my car..2000 Trans Am, Automatic...completely stock. right Now I know for a fact I am getting a hypertech programmer, and airbox lid. Few questions
1) Flowmaster/SLP Loudmouth/Corsa?
2) Whats the difference performance and soundwise in going catback and going just muffler?

1) Forget HPP3 & get Predator (well worth the extra $100)
2)Flowmaster POS, SLP Loudmouth (Good but too loud IMO), Corsa good all around. I went with Hooker, good performance (Low Backpressure) and awsome sound (Especialy at 2000/3000 rpm and WOT)
Personaly I think replacing the Y-pipe is more beneficial than a cat back.

Yea man ditto on getting the Predator, it is far superior to the HPP3, my vote goes to the Loudmouth, I think it is damn near the best flowing catback out there. Corsa is nice but is expensive, forget flowmaster, they may sound good but they flow like ****. Good Luck man.

Corsa sounds good, but is kind of pricey. I found mine for like $400 bucks used though. Sometimes you can find people who are selling them for cheap on here in the parts for sale forum.
Cheap alternative is get an ATR Pit-Bull muffler and a nice set of tailpipes to your liking! Those mufflers sound nice and deep on an LS1! That is what my buddy did with his Z-28. He put less than $300 in his exhaust and it sounds really nice!

You could get an aftermarket Y for the stock manifolds but when you purchased headers(LT's) you would have to change to a different Y. I would stay with the stock Y.
