Default What are the Best valve springs for the buck

Well was racing this weekend and the car started acting wierd. I pulled the valve covor off and the back valve spring on the pass side was broke. havent pulled the driver side off yet. It has patriot heads with patriot springs and a cam in sig. Money wise probally going to just change the broke one. Unless I can find a good set for a good deal. What would you guys recomend? Sorry wrong thread. Didnt notice until to late.

Are those dual springs? If not you should think about swapping them out for a set of PRC duals with titanium retainers. If you run high revs fairly often you will probably keep breaking the single wire springs. You do have a decent lift on that cam as well.

Hey Chris hows it going? Do those cause any float or power loss at higher rpms? I don't think I have seen anyone on the dyno with those springs but everyone I have seen with single springs fall off at high RPM's due to some floating.

No, thats why I stated better valve control but the spring is only part of the equation.
Springs also need to be installed correctly as well, not many people check install heights.

its also important to check for valve guide wear after a valve spring has broken... if the guide has bellmouthed, the valve will rock excessively during operation... this will cause the spring to loose its "squareness", it will also result in accelerated guide/retainer/valve wear.

yes my springs are dual springs. They have titanium retainer. I got over 25000 miles out of these springs so im sure they were installed correctly. The work was done by nitro daves.
