Tachometer not working after head and cam swap
So I checked and double checked all connections and have not found anything unplugged. All gauges work on the dash except the tach. It doesn't move and actually decreases rpm slightly when I give it gas. Could I have hooked it up ... upside down or reversed the wires? Am I correct to believe that the tach signal is read off of the cam position sensor? There is a code that is being thrown so I will have to go to the parts store and see what it is.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Found the problem
I took off the intake and everything was fine. Just before going to the parts store to get a sensor, I searched more on this site and came across a post from 2004 with a few people who had the same problem.
I had disconnected and removed my EGR stuff. Right near that connection is another connection that when disconnected doesn't give you the Cam Position and results in a hard start and no tach indication while the engine is running. SES light is off and all is running well. This site rocks!
