Default Weird stuff after swapping throttle bodies.

Okay here's the deal. I had a hanging idle problem with my car (mods in sig) and I thought it might be my ported TB so I swapped it with my friends stock one. The ported throttle body made his idle hang too so we swapped them back figuring I found my problem because my car drove fine with the stock TB.

Now for some reason his idle is hanging up with his stock throttle body. Everything is tight and we tried resetting the PCM but it's still doing it.

Any idea what might cause this?

The PCM takes a little while to relearn idle. Basically 5 minute idle, turn key off for 30 + seconds and restart. Let the car fully warm up and it should have relearned idle by now.

pull out the idle air control motor and clean all the carbon and gunk off of it. I know this has fixed many many cars before.

Fixed it. I pulled the IAC out and guess what. There was no gasket on it. It must have fallen off when I swapped the sensors from my throttle body to the ported one. I put a gasket on it and it's much better now.

that is the most common thing to cause a idle problem. Those things get really nasty and cause all kinds of idle problems

Well I drove it around for a while then it came back. Tried cleaning it and it still does it.

Funny thing is if I unplug the IAC it's fine, as soon as I plug it in the idle starts to hang again.

motor might be bad, but there are many sensors that the pcm uses to set iac position. Have anyone you can swap iac motors with?

I swapped it with one that I had on another throttle body and it did the same exact thing.

Who ported it? Most will slowly settle to an idle when coming to a stop or simular sitautions but shouldnt idle high.

Don't know. My friend had it on his car and traded me straight up for my stock one when he got his FAST 90/90.
