Default Old question about aftermarket lids....(the SLP rant)

Just purchased a ws6 lower airbox(have a ws6 hood) and my SLP lid fits like complete ***, it doesnt seal what so ever and it rubs the hood in one spot. It fit like a glove before Which stock maf size replacement lid have you guys found success with? Sponsors speak up!!!

SLP lids are garbage. Fit like **** and you damn near have to crack it to get it over the MAF.

If you can find one, get a "direct flo" lid with the smoothed edges. They make more power and fit a lot better.

SLP Blackwing lid (as found on the 345hp package in 2002) fits the same as the stock lid is equally sturdy. This is an OEM piece.

All aftermarket lids are flimsy in my opinion and have questionable seal between the lid and air filter due to this.

/\ - You are correct about the Blackwing. It's a great lid, but very hard to come by since it was a factory option and I don't think it was ever sold individually to the public.

I have an early 98 so i think the SLP lid was designed for it.. it fits damn perfect on my other radiator support. Ill be on the search for a direct flow since im going to try to get this baby into the mid/low 12s without a stall

Same here - rubbed a little on my VFN WS6 hood on a WS6 lower airbox. Perfect fit on my Formula with the standard airbox.

Maybe the problem is having an aftermarket ws6 hood and not an original? I have an original and the SLP fits perfect, as do others in this thread.
