SLP Blackwing Lid vs SLP Air-Box Lid
My Firehawk came with the Blackwing lid as part of the 345hp alteration package and I was wondering if there is much of a difference between that lid and the one SLP sells on their site called the Air-Box Lid. I can put the SLP Air-Box lid for free and was wondering if there will be any gain? I think the neck of the SLP Air Box Lid looks better than the Blackwing. I am also going to dyno soon, so I'll swap them out on the dyno, but let me know if you there are any differences. Thanks!!!
Also, what does the hose coming off the driver side of the airlid do? Can I remove it?

I don't think you'll see much gain although TSP tested
their newer one against the Blackwing and claimed some
upside. If it's free, try it; you can always go back. I
wouldn't expect much if anything of it, though. Against
the stock lid it's another story.
The hose is for the AIR system inlet breather. Some just
ditch the last 3' and put one of those foam PCV breather
filters in it. Might look a bit ghetto if you don't at least
try to hide it.

Skytower....Stick with the Blackwing lid as it's fit and finish and quality construction is second to none. The quality of the SLP PP Lid can be good to poor from what I've seen. So far no lid has come close to the quality of the Blackwing that I've seen personally. The Blackwing flows good enough for me to make 399 rwhp on stock heads with a mild cam by todays standards.

I had the Blackwing Lid on my 02 SS. I switched to a TSP smoked clear lid. The only reason I switched is the oval opening on the Blackwing Lid vs the round opening on the TSP Lid. I could tell a slight difference but not really enough to justify spending the extra $ on the lid.
