Victor JR. With Sheet metal elbow or FAST 102
I am Putting my 408 together as we speak and wondering i have a FAST 90/90 setup now and was thinking!!Should i go with a FAST 102/102 or a Edelbrock Victor JR. this intake elbow http://www.6061.com/lsx.htm and a 102 throttle body? I had TONY MAMO Port my heads and basically choose my entire combo including him ordering my cam for me but the intake question was up in the air?

I just went through the same dilemma as in like within the past week.
I went the Super Vic direction, verdict is still out on if that was the right decision or not til spring
Both seem to be good options but in the game of trying to squeeze out every last pony the Edelbrocks seem to be the way to go. Good Luck either way you go

The real question between those two intakes is are you willing to use and optimize for the rpm needed for the short runner intake.
Want to shift below 7000? Fast.
Want your stall to stay anywhere near 3200? Fast.
If your willing to set up the valvetrain, twist that motor, and stall/gear correctly the car will be faster with the vic and make more power. If you try and be modest with the vic it will just kill bottom end and not make any more peak.

Another thought, that I'm discussing with a few fabricators now, is your hood and fitment
I'm trying to fabricate a breather that will sit on top of my accufab and draw air directly from the scoop.

But, I am one that I could for the most part care less. Its not like your motor will feel weak by any stretch of the imagination down low.
As I said, you will be faster with a correct combo twisting the correct rpm with a vic. But the fast will be more friendly in a sense it will need a less aggressive combo.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. But my combo would be a Super Victor intake and 90' elbow but if possible a 102 tb if it fits the Edelbrock elbow. The way I look at it is here's the price diff more or less. Edelbrock set up= EFI carb intake 399.99, EDEL elbow 113.99, Edel fuel rails 99.99 and 102 TB for 249 if you go with the Ebay one. Now lets look at the Fast 102 849.99 just the intake and well the rest is pretty much the same. What do you all think? Which one is better bang for the buck?

RPM, Big gear/converter CORRECT cam with a solid valvetrain = VIC
Street friendly cookie cutter tsp cam (Not ment rudely.) 3.42/3600 stall = Fast

While the Vic setup may be cheaper. Do not do it to save coin. It takes a full setup to make a vic work. Chances are if you are comparing them you need a Fast anyways.

Good sized cam, 3.73, TH400 w/ brake (nothing in your sig screams daily driver to me)
I think someone else mentioned this somewhat, you might lose some at low RPM's however, how often are you racing/showing off at RPM's under 3500? And trust me regardless it's gonna feel like you're holdin' back one pissed off pack of wolves until you stick your foot into it and let'em eat!!
