Default dual mode exhaust to attach to slp dual tip setup?

Would be really nice to have a tip set that had the valve control to force airflow through the extra muffler in the tip or full flow like it is normally. I know the corvettes bimode (bimodal, dual mode, and other names) exhaust can do this with a 12v switch setup.

Anyone achieved this type of modification if so post some pics, parts used, and cost! I would really like this feature so i can turn down the sound at a flick of a switch.

Thanks in advance!

Look at a borla system with an electronic cut out.

The driver side exhaust tip goes fully through the muffler, the passenger side has a plate that controls how much exits through the passenger side. The more open the plate, the higher flow and louder it will be. Put a electronic cut out there and you're golden!

If you don't want borla, I'm sure a good exhaust shop could fairly easily make something similar with your choice of muffler and tips, just need a straight through design muffler, and a "Y" section after it goes over the axle but before the muffler to control how much the passenger tip can flow.

Here's a picture for some reference:

So depending on what muffler/tips you want, you could spend as little as $40 for a straight through muffler and whatever for tips, up to a couple hundred for a nice muffler.
I bought a electronic cutout on ebay for $120 shipped, fantastic product for the price.
Other than that you just need the "Y" section made up and cost of labor.

What your referring to is a valvetronic exhaust system, you can accomplish it with one of two techniques, with using electric cut outs, as stated above

but true valvetronic systems use a vacuum controlled butterfly valve, which is more effective and efficient in the long run...

however your looking at 1500 to get a vacuum controlled valve set up

example

and a place to pick up the valves... cheapest i can find is a 1000 dollar set up

the cool thing about using a vacuum valve is you can even set it up so that the valve opens up based on car's rpm, so when your cruising through towns its nice and quite, as soon as its pedal to the medal, she screams

everything your looking for can be done with the borla system mentioned already, use a window switch for your rpm idea.

This isnt anything new, pontiac had a vacuum system (VOE) on the GTOs in the 60s

My VW R32 has this type of exhaust from the factory.

This is a great idea and thank you for the input.

I also think that I could modify the tips of my existing slp setup to have a mini muffler on one side of each tip and a 2 way valve to switch between muffled and full flow. This way you would still get an even airflow through the end of the exhaust system.

has anyone seen a 2 position valve control (like qtp's valve control but the valve would rotate horizontally instead of vertically)?

This a cool setup and I have see this before too but I think its way to expensive for me. Thank you for the info!
