Default You guys ever play around w/intake filter?

Am thinking about trying a 4" diameter flat filter that mounts in the 4" intake tube, maybe. Again, 4" diameter & 1/2" approx tall section of a pleated filter section mounted in-line to eliminate one bend in my ram air set up.

It would then be more like a Viper ram air where the air is in-line to the intake opening w/an opening in the hood for air to enter. Would have to clean it more often. Wonder if it will create more of a pressure drop. Can measure it w/ tuning software to find out.

IDK, just thinking about it. What have you guys done in this area?

Check the Spectre web site. They have filters inside of intake tubing. They are fairly low in cfm rating. You might need to use 2 of them.

Yah, looked @ Spectre. You are right, they are 575 CFM, would need 2. That will require too much room. Searched & searched the net, as well. Couldn't find anything else that was better. Also, am thinking that using 1 slice of a 4" diameter pleated section of a flat filter just won't do it either. Would cause a greater pressure drop & would likely require cleaning after each drive.

Really want to find a way to do this, but, just doesn't seem likely unless we run without a filter, which is not an option.
