Default Scrapping cats

Has anyone else have a problem finding someone to take scrap catalytic converters? I just went to long tubes and the only place close that would take them offered me $10 for the pair. I've called other places and they said they don't buy them. I was wondering if a lot of places quit buying them due to thieves stealing them off of cars.

I just sold 6 of them yesterday for $48 a piece. There are people on here that buy them for similar prices as well.

There are two guys on here that pay about $100+ for a pair, sold mine to one not too long ago, he pays, you ship, end of story. Search thru the classified section, one is a newer member the other has been a round some.

This will help, use the SEARCH button!

If they are bad, sell them to the scrap guys.

If they are still good, and you only removed them to put on LTs, then sell them here.
There are people that need them from time to time.

I sold my Bad Cats for $120 for the pair at a scrap yard here in NC. Don't let them steal your money.

Default Low Scrap Cost

My 03' Yukon was throwing codes due to clogged cats. Replaced the system with a nice SS Magnaflow Y-pipe. I was able to find a local scrapper that paid $90 for the pair. The guy did tell me that scrap price on platinum and palladium are down right now compared to a few years ago. It sounds like selling them on here is the way to go!
