The oil crossover cover right above the oil filter.

You can't miss it - it's a small aluminum casting that attaches with (2) bolts to engine block directly above the oil filter.

You will see it has an angled boss sticking out of the center. Remove the casting, carefully drill/tap center of that angled boss for 1/8NPT and install sending unit, install casting back to engine (it uses o-ring gasket).

There was a truck piece (oil cooler) that bolts right up
to that port, the lines tuck under the exhaust manifold
running toward the front. Not sure what models / years,
I've got one sitting around here somewhere. Personally
I think I'd go with a spin-on adaptor, thermostatic or
else want a cooler with the bypass thermostat so the
oil is not cooled to excess.

I think he's just looking to install a sender for an Oil Temp gage - not an Oil Cooler.

On another note, with regards to a oil cooler - I use a Lingenfelter Adapter in place of that casting above the oil filter, running SS braided hose with AN ends to an inline Mocal Thermostatic unit, then to a Mocal cooler mounted behind the DS lower fascia opening
