True Dual Rasp HELP!
I have what looks like a custom true dual setup on my 01 Camaro, very simular to tsp true duals, TSP 1 7/8" headers, everything is mandrel bent, 3" tubing, 3" CCE powersticks that are i think 26" long if i remember right. Sounds great everywhere except around 2k rpm and has almost a y-pipe style drone. the whole exhaust is welded except to the headers and its slip fit with 3" band clamps. The passenger side has been bent before because the distance between the collecters were different so they were heat bent. Would this have anything to do with the drone? they were bent in for some pacesetters, then bent back out (about 2.5") for the tsp headers. There are some crimps where the exhaust was bent during the heat bends. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is the exhaust dumped at the axle or right after the collectors? Your sig says your car is "stock as a rock" and obviously it isn't. Btw the Idle clip tells us nothing about the rasp that you hear we need to hear it as best as a video can do so we can see if it is actually rasp or just a vibration.

Obviously not stock lol, I just got done with a complete rebuild of the entire car I haven't updated my signature. It wasn't supposed to show rasp, just what it sounds like at idle. Its dumped at the axle, and it's def a rasp. The car is at my friend/trans builder for a valve body issue so I can't take a video right now, won't give out my setup but will say is a forged l92 with a 4l80e and 3800 stall

I know that true duals are not supposed to have a rasp, that's why I'm kinda puzzled. It's like a bad reverberation at ~2000-2300rpm like you get with a y-pipe car. The X looks good on the exhaust, so I don't think it's the merge. I'll get a vid ASAP of it but it may be next week. The car is in Nashville and I live in western ky. Until then I'll just have to try and explain it. There's not a rasp under wot or letting off from wot, just under part throttle conditions at ~2000-2300 rpm.

Maybe I'm using the wrong word, drone would best describe it. Edited first post to drone instead of rasp, sorry for using the wrong word lol

If its drone, then yes you will be getting that somewhat, I know I do in 4th. The exhaust has no time to smooth out and the soundwaves are exiting under you so there will be some present

I'll get a vid, it's very very bad. Some drone is fine but when it's echoing like it is right now it reminds me of some of the redneck trucks running around here. Any cure to this? Maybe put a short bullet off the collector on the x-pipe? Would an admin change the name of the thread to drone instead of rasp, may help with the confusion I've started lol thanks guys!!

With a dumped exhaust the sound waves are bouncing off the pavement and the underside of the car. There will be some drone. I would be willing to bet your car does not sound like a farm truck from bystanders. About theonly fix would be quieter mufflers. However, Any thing exiting under the car will be subject to this.
