I would consider one as well but I'm like red, I wouldn't replace my K&N for one. But if for some reason I ever needed another one, yes I would probably buy one.

I wonder if this thread gets locked since AEM isn't a sponsor since the US Exotics thread did.

I don't understand the need to wash it, I blow out and shop vac my amsoil filter and it looks good as new. I'm also sure that the aem would cost a good bit more than the amsoil filter.

I'd like to think they're a sponsor on performance trucks. Hell, the sponsors over there sell AEM Brute Force intakes, so I'd like to *think* this thread is safe.

I voted no. The Wix/Car Quest filters have more pleats than other filters, will flow at least just as well as the AEM and be way less money.

AEM filters look to run around 40 bucks? Pass....

C'mon Paul. This coming from the guy that spent over 100 bucks on Granatelli plug wires that are lifetime as well?

40 bucks isn't bad for a LIFETIME filter. Wix are what; 8 bucks a pop? After buying 5 you're in the hole....

My AMSOil has just as many pleats as a wix and was much more than 40 bucks.

Hey doc, very good point and point well taken. I'll have a look at the Amsoil filter but the Wix is still a great filter for the price in the world of throw-aways.

I would. I haven't oiled my k&n because I don't want to suck colored oil into everything.

Honestly, I've been so happy with K&N air filters, I probably can't be tempted to switch. I've used K&N filters in my V-6 Camaro, my mom's 2001 Ford Windstar (yes, they make one for that singular piece of vehicular disappointment), my wife's 2002 Saturn Vue, our 2011 Ford Escape, and my 2002 Z28RS. Reluctant to change...man, I'm turning into my dad.

Wix is the maker of Amsoil filters. This is why it'll have as many pleats as the Wix. Different filter media, different color. But is it better?

Agreed, Paul. But a wix is a throw away. I'm happy with the AMSOil, but I wish I could wash it. Vacuum it, compressed air inside the pleats... I still feel like I'm cheating the car's full potential.

Let's not shower for a week and only use a shop VAC and compressed air to clean ourselves.... Smell aside, we still wouldn't be as clean.

Far fetched alliteration? Maybe. But you DO see my point.

I just feel it would be a touchdown for the community as a whole if we had a WELL KNOWN brand take the lead on this and come through.

My money's ready.

I don't really see a benefit. Air filters just don't make a big HP difference; the reason to choose one over another is filtration.

I run an Amsoil now after using Wix for years, only because they got dirty fast with my CAI and I got tired of buying them and throwing them away.

So far, dirt doesn't seem to penetrate the paper of the Amsoil the way it would on the Wix. It comes pretty clean after I blow it out.

Would you have to use that foam seal they send with the K&N filter with the AEM? Doesn't that filter fit something else and they make it work with the foam seal?

I bought a dry filter with my SSRA from Fast Toys a while back, can't remember what brand it is.

----------------

I just checked, is MAC.

Great. Yey MAC. Their headers are the ****, huh .....

In other news, we have a heavy hitter considering making a filter for us b/c I picked up the phone and demanded the top. I want "the best" for my car, to an applicable ideal.

AEM is paramount when it comes to dryflow technology and design. Their BruteForce proves that.

Guys, if you want this filter, you HAVE TO VOTE! I want this. Even if you are happy with what you have, vote anyways. Its helps the community as whole!
